HR before new challenges

The main task facing HR today is the analysis of the mood and effectiveness of employees operating in a hybrid system of work with the use of new technological tools.

The year 2021 showed that the strength of HR is growing. HR departments are becoming more and more important and influence the business. The pandemic caused the pace of development of the sector to accelerate significantly.

HR departments today are not only HR and payroll, recruitment of new employees, or broadly understood development paths, but departments that often face the difficult mission of "embracing" the company and employees in a new remote work system or hybrid. Business is increasingly taking into account the opinion of its HR directors. Currently, we can talk about a very good period for people specializing in this field. HR specialists cannot complain about the lack of work today. On the contrary, they face a lot of challenges and much more responsibility.

 

A technological revolution in HR

HR has also undergone a technological revolution. A lot of tools have been developed that change personnel activities into numbers and statistics, thanks to which they become more tangible and understandable for analysis by management or financial departments. After all, HR specialists have the greatest impact on reducing costs caused by increasing turnover and the extended training process of new employees.

Technological progress has greatly facilitated and accelerated the processes of recruiting employees through video interviews. At the same time, modern tools for the candidate experience research and for easier selection of candidates have been developed. Recruiters can experience many benefits from doing so.

Employers who opted for remote work have also opened up to candidates from other cities, and in international companies also to people from other countries. And this is a great help for recruiters in finding talent.

Modern technologies have become a great support also for employees. Companies work in the cloud, on share points, enabling home office employees quick access to knowledge and projects. Corporate communication has shifted to the virtual world, on internal communicators, thematic and discussion groups are formed, without which no one can actually imagine functioning anymore.

Building flexible teams that identify with the company

The profile of the employees sought has clearly changed. It is noticeable that employers are currently focusing on the ability to quickly adapt to changes and learn agile. There is a trend related to Learning Agility. Likewise for companies, the most flexible actors did the best in a pandemic. Those that were able to change their activities overnight have become the current market leaders.

Recruitment in the new reality has many advantages, while the process of Onboarding employees in remote work mode required the development of new mechanisms. And the greatest challenge for HR departments has certainly been taking care of the morale of people working in the company.

HR directors and HR Business Partners are nowadays highly desirable roles on the market. There are also new specializations within HR, such as Chief Happiness Officers, which shows how important for employers is the level of employee satisfaction and the comfort of their work. It will be a good time for employees. More and more is being done to keep them in the organization. Recently, work has begun on the psychological comfort of the employed people. Many companies have purchased employee assistance programs (EAP), thanks to which employees can take advantage of advice from psychologists, medical specialists or lawyers.

Deep and holistic HR activities

HR is now a well-thought-out process that involves tracing and mapping the entire company. It is an analysis of data, statistics, competences and financial results. For me, as an HR specialist, it is a perfect combination, meaning a huge development for this specialization. However, are there specialists on the market with such competences who can look at the company so broadly? Certainly, some organizations have been working consciously for years, creating and developing a company based on strong cooperation and recommendations from HR. For most companies, however, this is a complete novelty and a completely new challenge for HR departments.

Companies face a huge challenge of combining remote work with office work, training their management staff, which has the greatest share in motivating employees and influencing the smooth functioning of the organization in the virtual world.

The last months of 2021 and 2022 promise to be positive for the economy. The market begins to open, the machine is in motion. One emerging sector is driving the other. IT companies do not keep up with creating new systems, applications and software, so recruitment companies also have more and more projects for this. Training companies have started with new trainings, event companies are organizing more and more integrations, marketing companies help promote employers and plan Employer Branding activities and campaigns together with HR departments.

At work, as in life

In the coming time, we will observe the emergence of new segments of the economy on the market. In this context, companies will change their business models and employee management methods. Specialists in specific fields will have to be more flexible and focused on building more consistent relationships with employers.

Today, young people can fight for theirs, they know their rights, they are assertive, they can set limits, at work they act like in private life. This can be perceived as stubbornness or lack of humility and discipline, but they are very wise and healthy values ​​that can ultimately bring great value to the organization.

If companies want to attract and retain the best employees, they will have to be flexible in their approach to their individual needs and preferred work mode. Let them be themselves at work. And employees try to understand the business goals of the organization. In this way, the relations between the employee and the employer will become closer and closer, so that they are as satisfactory for both parties as possible.
