INPOST - A dozen or so new logistics hubs across Poland

15 April 2021

InPost, the fastest growing e-commerce delivery platform in Europe, will add a dozen or so logistics hubs to its infrastructure in Poland. The facilities will be built this year in Rzeszów, Wrocław, Poznań, Wałbrzych, Katowice, Tychy, Radzymin, Siedlce, Kalisz, Koszalin and Szczecin. In total InPost will have more than 100,000 sq m of new floorspace at its disposal. All the hubs will enter service later this year. In January 2021, InPost made a successful debut on Amsterdam's EURONEXT stock exchange.

Currently the company relies on more than 60 logistics hubs including two sorting facilities in Piotrków Trybunalski and in the P3 Logistic Parks Mszczonów to operate in excess of 11,000 parcel lockers in Poland and to provide courier services.

“For two years we have been the dominant player on the logistics real-estate lease market. However, this year our infrastructure will grow exponentially. In 2020 we doubled the turnover and volume of parcels which we handle. 2021 is looking even more promising. We will use Poland, with the largest network of parcel lockers in Europe and vast logistics facilities, as a template for international expansion. Our model is unique on a world scale and immensely difficult to imitate. But most importantly, it has been tried and tested by millions of parcels delivered under the D+1 regime. I can safely say that there is no other like us in Europe. And it will take many years and huge investments for anyone to catch up with what we've managed to achieve. And now our potential will receive a further boost on account of the new parcel locker factory set to commence production sometime in the middle of this year. We are also planning to take over Mondial Relay - a French company with an extensive network of 15,800 collection and drop-off points (“PUDO”) in France, Benelux and on the Iberian Peninsula” - said Rafał Brzoska, InPost CEO.

“Our cooperation clearly shows the prevailing market trend - courier companies investing in ever more regional distribution centres, also located in out of the way places, in order to improve delivery efficiency both in terms of costs as well as delivery times. And this would not be possible without the experience of Panattoni and market innovators such as InPost” - said Marek Dobrzycki, Managing Director at Panattoni, the company set to build more than 75,500 sq m of floorspace for InPost.

“We wholeheartedly welcomed news of cooperation with InPost, the Polish logistics market leader, currently enjoying unprecedented growth rates. As the chief e-commerce sector operator, InPost is also one of the most active players on the logistics real estate market in Poland. It was with the utmost pleasure that we took this opportunity to assist InPost in expanding their logistics infrastructure” - said Bartłomiej Zagrodnik, Managing Partner/CEO at Walter Herz, the company advising InPost during negotiations for more than 50,000 sq m of floorspace.
