In 2018, we observed a further growth of the hotel market, both in terms of demand and new supply. The number of nights spent in our country increased by 7 per cent, and Polish airport handled 15 per cent more passengers (41.74 million) than a year earlier. There are already over 2800 categorized hotel facilities in Poland, which offer approximately 137 thousand rooms.
Last year, however, most of the largest hotel markets in the country did not record a significant increase in operating results. According to Bartłomiej Zagrodnik, Managing Partner at Walter Herz, this is a result of the significant number of openings of new facilities in 2018 - Last year, there weren’t many investment transactions in the hotel segment, which was primarily caused by high price expectations and insufficient number of offers available - admits Bartłomiej Zagrodnik.
In 2018, 4* Holiday Inn hotel located in the center of Warsaw, 4* Park Inn by Radisson hotel and 4* Gromada hotel in Cracow, as well as 4* Holiday Inn Express hotel in Gdańsk changed their owners.

Hotel market in Poznań, unlike other agglomerations, recorded an above-average increase in prices in 2018.
